FAQ

Buying from Maxwave

Where is Maxwave Laser located?

Our factory and office are in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China: Building B8, 28th Street Leisure Business Center, Panlongcheng Economic Development Zone, Huangpi District. Visitors are welcome by appointment.

Which countries do you ship to?

Maxwave machines run in 32 countries. We crate machines for sea or air freight and can quote to your nearest port or to your door. Tell us your country and we will confirm the voltage, plug type and shipping options.

What warranty do you give?

Two years on the whole machine, with replacement parts supplied during the warranty. After that we keep supporting the machine for its working life. Consumables such as protective lenses and nozzles are not covered.

Is training included?

Yes. Operator training at our Wuhan factory is free, and every machine ships with an English manual and video instructions. We also train remotely by video call.

Can you supply a machine that is not on this website?

Yes. This website shows only part of our range. We also supply other powers, sizes and wavelengths, machines we do not list, and everything around them: fixtures, rotary axes, fume extraction, chillers, consumables and spare parts. Tell us the job and we will put together a complete solution with one quote and one shipment.

Can you customize a machine?

Yes. We build to order: voltage and plug for your country, laser power, cooling, rail length on wall printers, software language and labels. Distributors can order machines with their own branding.

How do I get a price?

Send us the material, thickness and the job you need done, or pick a model and press Get a quote. Prices depend on the configuration, so we quote the exact machine we would ship.

Can I become a Maxwave distributor?

We work with dealers in several countries and support them with machine settings, training, marketing material and spare-parts stock. Contact us with your company profile and region.

FAQ

Laser cleaning machines

Does laser cleaning damage the metal?

Set correctly, no. Pulsed lasers remove coatings with very little heat into the part. Continuous-wave lasers put in more heat, so on thin sheet we lower power or increase speed to avoid discolouration.

What can a laser cleaner remove?

Rust, mill scale, paint, powder coat, oil and grease, oxide and heat tint after welding, rubber residue in tyre moulds and carbon deposits. Results depend on coating thickness and power, so we recommend a sample test.

Which is better, pulsed or continuous laser cleaning?

Neither is better in general. Pulsed is for delicate surfaces and precision; continuous-wave is for speed on heavy rust and paint. Many workshops that do both buy one of each.

Do I need consumables?

No blasting media or chemicals. You replace the protective lens in the cleaning head from time to time and run fume extraction.

FAQ

Laser welding machines

What thickness can a handheld laser welder weld?

It depends on power, material and joint. As a rough guide, a 1500 W machine handles most stainless and carbon steel sheet up to a few millimetres in one pass; higher power extends this. Our power guide has a typical thickness table.

Is laser welding stronger than TIG?

With good fit-up, laser seams on thin material are typically as strong as TIG seams, with less distortion. Poor fit-up or wide gaps favour TIG or MIG, or laser welding with filler wire.

Can I weld aluminium with a handheld laser welder?

Yes. Aluminium reflects more and conducts heat away faster, so it needs more power and clean surfaces. Many shops clean the joint with a laser cleaner first.

What is the difference between a jewelry welder and a handheld welder?

Jewelry welders deliver short, precise pulses under magnification for small precious-metal parts. Handheld fiber welders run continuously at high power to join sheet metal.

FAQ

Laser marking machines

Which laser marking machine is best for metal?

A fiber laser at 1064 nm. For black marks on anodized aluminium or colour marks on stainless steel, choose a MOPA fiber laser.

Can a fiber laser mark plastic?

Many plastics, yes, but results vary with colour and additives. UV lasers mark a wider range of plastics with less heat and cleaner contrast.

What is a flying laser marker?

A marker mounted over a production line that marks products while they move, synchronised with an encoder. It is used for dates, batch codes and logos on packaging, pipes and cables.

How long does a laser source last?

Fiber laser sources are commonly rated for tens of thousands of hours. CO2 glass tubes have a much shorter life and are replaced as a consumable; RF CO2 tubes last longer.

FAQ

Laser cutting machines

What can a fiber laser cutting machine cut?

Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and galvanized sheet. It is not used for wood or acrylic; for those, use a CO2 laser.

Which assist gas do I need?

Oxygen for thicker carbon steel, nitrogen for clean, oxide-free edges on stainless and aluminium, and compressed air for low-cost cutting of thin sheet.

FAQ

CO2 engraving & cutting machines

Can a CO2 laser cut metal?

Not practically at these power levels. It can mark coated or anodized metal; for cutting metal, use a fiber laser.

What thickness of acrylic can a 100 W CO2 laser cut?

Typically up to about 10–15 mm in one pass, depending on speed and edge quality required. We can test your material.

FAQ

Wall & UV printers

What surfaces can a wall printer print on?

Painted interior walls, tiles, glass, wood, canvas, metal and many boards. Textured or uneven walls reduce quality; a primer coat improves adhesion and colour.

How tall can a wall printer print?

It depends on the rail height of the model, commonly around 2 to 3.5 metres. Longer rails are available on request.
