Overview

This laser rust remover uses a JPT pulsed fiber laser to clean metal surfaces without contact. Short laser pulses break up rust, paint and oxide, and leave the base metal unharmed. You can clean a defined area to an exact size, for example around a weld or a sealing face, and leave the rest of the part untouched.

The process uses no chemicals, abrasives or other consumables. The finish is clean and even, and there is no blasting media or solvent waste to clear away. The whole system fits in a wheeled hard case, so one person can take it from job to job.

Configuration

  • Laser source: JPT pulsed fiber laser, 50 W or 100 W. Power is adjustable from 10 to 100 %, and the repetition frequency from 10 to 50 kHz.
  • Cleaning head: handheld scanning head with a 10–80 mm scan width. Lenses with 160–210 mm focal length are interchangeable to change the working distance.
  • Cooling: air-cooled.
  • Power: single-phase 220 V ±10 %, 50/60 Hz.
  • Housing: hard transport case with wheels and a telescopic handle. Foam inserts hold the fiber cable and head. Listed size is 750 × 600 × 500 mm, and weight is 37 kg or 48 kg depending on the power option.

Typical applications

  • Removing rust from steel parts, tools and machine components
  • Stripping paint and coatings in selected areas
  • Removing oxide and oil before welding, painting or assembly
  • On-site maintenance where blasting is not allowed

Options and customization

  • 50 W or 100 W laser power
  • Interchangeable focal-length lenses
  • Robot-arm mounting for automatic cleaning
  • Voltage and plug type to suit your country

The rust remover has a 2-year whole-machine warranty. Operator training at our Wuhan factory is free.

FAQ

About this machine

Should I choose 50 W or 100 W?

Both use a JPT pulsed fiber source and the same scan head. The 100 W version removes more material per pass, so it suits rust and paint over larger areas. The 50 W version suits light oxide, oil and thin coatings on smaller parts. Send us a sample if you are unsure.

How fast does it clean?

The stated rate is about 12 m² per hour. Real speed depends on the type and thickness of the rust or coating, so we recommend a test on your part.

Does it need a water chiller?

No. The laser is air-cooled, and the machine runs on single-phase 220 V. Other voltages and plugs are available on request.

Can it work with a robot?

The standard unit is handheld. The cleaning head can also be mounted on a robot arm for automatic cleaning. Contact us to discuss the integration.
