A series of pulsed fiber laser cleaners for removing rust, paint, oil and oxide without harming the base metal. It suits mould shops, automotive and machining plants, and restoration work where the surface must stay intact. Models up to 100 W are air-cooled; the 200 W and 350 W models are water-cooled.

Overview

The MW-C series uses a pulsed fiber laser to clean metal surfaces. Each pulse is absorbed by the contaminant layer, not the metal. The layer heats so fast that it forms a small expanding plasma, and the shock wave breaks the rust, paint or oxide into fragments that fly off. The pulses are short enough that heat does not build up, so the base metal is left largely unchanged.

This makes the MW-C series a good fit where blasting or grinding would damage the part. Examples are moulds, precision components, aluminium, and heritage objects. The beam can be aimed at a defined area with an exact size, so you clean only where you need to.

Configuration

  • Laser source: pulsed fiber laser at 1064 nm. Average power is 50, 70, 100, 200 or 350 W depending on the model.
  • Cooling: forced-air cooling on the MW-C50, MW-C70 and MW-C100. The MW-C200 and MW-C500 are water-cooled and include a water tank.
  • Cleaning head: handheld scanning head with a 10–80 mm scan width, fed by a fully enclosed fiber beam path.
  • Cabinet: mobile cabinet on castors with the control panel on top. Total power consumption ranges from 350 W (MW-C50) to 3500 W (MW-C500).

Typical applications

  • Cleaning moulds without abrasion or chemicals
  • Removing rust and paint from automotive and machined parts
  • Removing oxide layers from metal parts
  • Restoration of cultural relics
  • Maintenance in shipbuilding, food-processing and petrochemical plants
  • Removing graffiti and oil

Options and customization

  • Choice of five power levels and two cooling types
  • Handheld operation, or automatic operation with the head on a robot or fixture

FAQ

About this machine

Which model should I choose?

For light oxide, oil and thin paint on small parts, the air-cooled MW-C50 to MW-C100 are enough. They weigh 56–65 kg and draw 350–600 W. For larger areas or thicker rust, the water-cooled MW-C200 (200 W) and MW-C500 (350 W) give more average power. They weigh 130 and 280 kg including the water tank.

Will pulsed laser cleaning damage the base metal?

Each pulse is short, so heat has no time to build up in the part. The contamination absorbs the energy and breaks away, and the base metal is left largely unchanged. We still recommend a sample test on your own part to set the parameters.

How does it handle uneven surfaces?

The cleaning head tolerates up to 20 mm of working-distance variation. Cleaning is non-contact, so it reaches into steps and recesses that brushes and blasting miss.

Can it be automated?

Yes. The beam is delivered by optical fiber, so the head can be mounted on a robot or fixture and work at a distance. This helps with hard-to-reach or hazardous areas. Tell us about your parts and we will confirm the integration.

What consumables does it use?

It needs no abrasive, solvent or chemicals, and leaves no chemical residue. The machine runs on electricity, with 350 W to 3500 W total power depending on the model.
