Models · 5040

An A2 UV flatbed printer for batch production: a 500 × 400 mm bed, 150 mm print height and one or two Epson heads, so it prints phone cases, bottles, gifts, signs and panels in larger batches than our desktop models. It runs CMYK, CMYK + white or double CMYK with a circulating ink system, an automatic lifting platform and UltraPrint RIP software. Compared with the A3 model it has a larger bed, 30 mm more print height and an optional second head.

Overview

The A2 UV flatbed printer prints directly onto objects placed on its 500 × 400 mm bed. UV light cures the ink during printing, so prints come off dry and scratch-resistant. With 150 mm of print height and an automatically lifting platform, it handles thick items such as bottles, boxes and blocks as well as flat panels. It is designed for batch production: you can fill the bed with phone cases or tags and print them in one run.

The printer takes one or two Epson heads, each with 8 rows of 180 nozzles and a variable droplet from 2.5 to 12 pl. Colour options are CMYK, CMYK + white (one head for colour, one for white) or double CMYK. White ink enables relief effects and printing on dark or clear materials.

Configuration

  • Heads: 1 or 2 Epson heads.
  • Ink: 1 L × 4 colours or 220 ml × 8 colours with a continuous circulating supply; fixed ink tanks that do not leak when moved; integrated waste-ink tank.
  • Ink extraction: sliding ink stack with an independent pump and a built-in emergency pump.
  • Motion: toothed X-axis beam; Y-axis on two linear guides with four interlocking blocks.
  • Safety: tinted front cover that blocks UV light; ventilated floating side covers.
  • Software: UltraPrint RIP on Windows; high-speed USB.
  • Power: AC 220 V or 110 V, 50–60 Hz.
  • Size and weight: 1000 × 750 × 650 mm, 70 kg.

FAQ

About this machine

Should I choose one head or two?

One head prints CMYK. Two heads let you print CMYK + white in one pass, or run double CMYK for more speed. Choose two heads if you print white on dark or clear items.

Can it print raised textures?

Yes. Layers of white ink build up a relief effect that you then print over in colour.

How fast is it?

8 m²/h at 720 × 720 dpi, 4 m²/h at 1440 × 720 dpi, 2 m²/h at 1440 × 1440 dpi and 1.8 m²/h at 2880 × 1440 dpi, per the manufacturer's sheet.

What software does it use?

UltraPrint RIP for colour management, on Windows. It accepts TIFF, BMP, PDF, EPS, JPEG, AI and PSD files.
