A3 DTF Printer, Epson L1800 (CMYK + White)

Models · MW-A3 L1800 · A3 1390

A desktop direct-to-film (DTF) printer that prints designs on PET film for heat transfer onto T-shirts, hoodies, bags and shoes. It prints A3 sheets (297 × 420 mm) or 30 cm roll film in CMYK plus two white channels at 2880 × 1440 dpi, with a white-ink circulation system to keep the white flowing. Unlike our UV flatbed printers, it does not print on the object itself: you transfer the film to fabric with powder, a curing oven and a heat press.

Overview

A DTF (direct-to-film) printer prints your design in reverse onto PET film instead of onto the garment. You then cover the wet print with hot-melt powder, cure it in an oven and press it onto the fabric with a heat press. Peel off the film and the design stays on the garment. Because the transfer sits on top of the fabric, it works on many fabric types and colours.

This A3 printer prints sheets up to 297 × 420 mm or 30 cm wide roll film up to 100 m long. It uses CMYK plus two white channels at 2880 × 1440 dpi. A white-ink circulation system keeps the white ink moving, so it flows smoothly and prints continuously. An A3 print takes about 6 minutes at 2880 dpi on the L1800 version.

FAQ

About this machine

What else do I need besides the printer?

DTF transfer powder, a curing oven and a heat press. The process is: print on PET film, apply powder and shake off the excess, bake in the oven, heat-press onto the garment, then peel off the film.

Which fabrics can I decorate?

The transfers go onto any fabric: T-shirts, hoodies, bags and shoes are typical. Test new fabrics with a sample press first.

What is the difference between the L1800 and 1390 versions?

Both are A3 DTF printers with CMYK + 2 white. The old sheet gives about 6 minutes per A3 print at 2880 dpi for the L1800 version and about 7 minutes for the 1390 version.

Can it print from a roll?

Yes. Besides A3 sheets it takes 30 cm wide roll film up to 100 m long.
