Overview

The MW-LC50 puts a pulsed fiber laser cleaner in a backpack housing for light cleaning jobs. It removes resin, oil stains, rust, coatings and paint from the surface of a part. It uses no detergent, blasting media or water and makes no dust, so there is nothing to collect or dispose of afterwards.

Setup is simple. You connect the power, switch on and start cleaning. The cleaning head can be held by hand or mounted for automated work, which makes the machine easy to fit into a production step later.

Configuration

Laser: pulsed fiber laser at 20, 30 or 50 W, with 8–10 kW peak power. Power is adjustable from 10 to 100 %.
Cleaning head: handheld scan head on a 3 m fiber. The beam width is adjustable from 10 to 100 mm, and you can set the scan length and width separately. Scan speed goes up to 7000 mm/s.
Optics: 160 mm field lens as standard, with 160–330 mm lenses optional.
Housing: red and grey backpack housing with shoulder straps, a front screen, a key switch, an emergency stop and a small digital display. Listed size is 450 × 350 × 500 mm.
Cooling and power: air-cooled. It runs on single-phase 220 V ±10 %, 50/60 Hz.

About this machine

Which power should I choose: 20, 30 or 50 W?

All three remove oil, resin, paint and light rust. More power cleans faster and copes better with thicker layers, so choose 50 W if you are unsure. For heavy rust or large areas, look at our 50–100 W backpack or our pulsed cabinet cleaners.

Does it need water or chemicals?

No water or chemicals. The laser is air-cooled and the process uses no blasting media or detergent. You plug it in, switch it on and start cleaning.

How far can I reach from the unit?

The cleaning head is on a 3 m fiber cable. Because you wear the unit on your back, you can move around the part freely.

Can it clean curved surfaces?

Yes. The beam width is adjustable from 10 to 100 mm, and the field lens can be changed between 160 and 330 mm focal length. This lets you work on curved and uneven parts. We recommend a sample test for complex shapes.
