Overview

This backpack laser cleaner takes laser rust removal to places a cabinet machine cannot reach. The whole system weighs 17 kg and is worn on the operator’s back. A 2.5 kg gun lets one hand guide the beam while the other stays free.

Cleaning needs no contact and no grinding. Rust, oil, oxide and paint absorb the laser energy and come off, and no chemicals or cleaning liquid are used. That means no chemical waste to dispose of. In the factory’s tests on cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, mould steel gears and aluminium plate, the base metal was left clean or smooth and undamaged.

  • Laser: fiber laser of 50, 75 or 100 W, air-cooled.
  • Cleaning gun: 2.5 kg handheld gun with a scan width of up to 200 mm. The field lens is replaceable to change the depth of focus and cleaning width.
  • Pack: 390 × 150 × 485 mm, 17 kg, with shoulder straps, wheels and a carry handle.
  • Electrical: 220 V AC, maximum current 6 A. The unit starts in about 10 s and is fully stable after 3 min.

About this machine

How heavy is it to carry?

The backpack unit weighs 17 kg and the cleaning gun 2.5 kg. The pack also has wheels, so you can pull it along the floor and put it on your back only where needed.

How fast does it clean?

In factory tests, carbon steel with 0.05 mm of rust cleaned at 2000–3000 mm²/s. Stainless steel with oil and light rust cleaned at 1800–2400 mm²/s, and oxidised aluminium at 1500–2300 mm²/s. Actual rates depend on the power option and the layer.

What power supply does it need?

It runs on 220 V AC and draws up to 6 A. For other voltages or plugs, tell us your country and we will configure it.

Can it work outdoors in cold weather?

It is rated for working temperatures from −10 to +40 °C and humidity of 10–96 %. Keep the optics dry and clean, and protect the unit from rain.

Can I change the cleaning width?

Yes. Scan width is adjustable up to 200 mm. The field lens is replaceable, so you can change the depth of focus and cover a wider area.
