Overview

This flatbed CO2 laser does two jobs on one machine. It engraves detailed images and text, and it cuts parts out of sheet material. The CO2 beam is absorbed well by organic materials and most plastics. That makes it a good fit for wood, acrylic, PVC, rubber, bamboo and similar materials. Acrylic cuts come out with a clean edge, and engraving resolution reaches 2500 dpi.

Two bed sizes are available. The 1390 has a 1300 × 900 mm work area, and the 1610 has a 1600 × 1000 mm work area.

Configuration

  • Laser: sealed CO2 glass tube, 60 to 150 W. It is water-cooled with a protection system, and power is set from 1 to 100 % in software.
  • Motion: stepper-motor drive, with repositioning accuracy better than 0.01 mm.
  • Control: Ruida DSP controller with a keypad and display on the machine. Jobs load over USB, so the machine runs offline. It also connects directly to a computer.
  • Software: LaserCut 5.3. It accepts PLT, DXF, AI, BMP and DST files directly and converts JPG, GIF, PNG and TIF. It works with CorelDRAW and AutoCAD, and with designs from Photoshop and ArtCut.
  • Supplied with: laser tube, lens and mirrors, water pump, air pump, exhaust fan, English manual and tool box. It ships in a plywood case.

Typical applications

  • Signs, letters and displays for advertising
  • Decoration, gifts, and arts and crafts
  • Architectural and scale models
  • Rubber plates and bamboo products
  • Parts for electrical appliances and the mould industry

Options and customization

  • Motorized up-down table for thick workpieces
  • Honeycomb or blade table
  • Rotary attachment with rollers or chuck, for engraving cylinders
  • Red-dot pointer and auto focus
  • 220 V, 50 Hz or 110 V, 60 Hz power supply

The machine has a 2-year whole-machine warranty, and operator training at our Wuhan factory is free.

FAQ

About this machine

Should I choose the 1390 or the 1610?

Choose by the largest sheet you work with. The 1390 has a 1300 × 900 mm bed. The 1610 has a 1600 × 1000 mm bed, which takes larger acrylic and board sheets with less cutting-down.

Which tube power do I need?

Lower power, such as 60–80 W, is fine for engraving and cutting thin material. Higher power, such as 100–150 W, cuts thicker acrylic and wood faster. Tell us your materials and thicknesses, and we will test a sample and recommend a tube.

Can it cut metal?

No. This machine is built for wood, acrylic, plastics, rubber and other non-metals. For steel, stainless steel and aluminium sheet, see our fiber laser cutting machine.

Do I need a computer next to the machine?

You design the job on a computer, but the Ruida DSP controller can run it offline from a USB flash drive. The machine can also be connected directly to a computer.

What comes in the box?

The laser tube, lens and mirrors, water pump, air pump, exhaust fan, DSP control system, LaserCut 5.3 software, English manual and tool box. We recommend keeping a spare lens, three spare mirrors and a spare tube.
