Jewelry laser welders

Desktop Jewelry Laser Welder 100 / 200 W (Nd:YAG, water-cooled)

A bench-top Nd:YAG pulse welder for jewelers who repair and assemble gold and silver pieces every day. It delivers 100 J or more per pulse, aimed through a 10× microscope, and the water chiller is built into the cabinet. It comes in 100 W and 200 W versions.

Overview

This desktop welder joins and repairs small metal parts with short, high-energy pulses from an Nd:YAG laser. You hold the piece in the chamber, aim through the 10× microscope and fire single pulses or a fast series. Each pulse melts a small, controlled pool. Heat stays local, so nearby stones, solder joints and polished surfaces are at less risk than with a torch.

Energy, pulse width, frequency and spot diameter are all adjustable. One machine can fill porosity in a casting, rebuild a prong and run short seams on thin-walled parts. The welds are small and smooth, which usually means little finishing afterwards.

Configuration

  • Laser: Ø7 × 130 mm Nd:YAG rod in a ceramic reflector cavity, 1064 nm, 100 W or 200 W.
  • Power supply: Maxwave pulse power supply, designed and built in-house (LS-W200 on the 200 W version).
  • Pulse: 100 J or more per pulse, 0.2–15 ms, 1–20 Hz.
  • Cooling: water chiller inside the cabinet, with over-temperature alarm and flow protection.
  • Control: single-chip controller; parameters are set on the control panel.
  • Viewing: 10× microscope with an automatic shading device for eye protection.
  • Cabinet: about 750 × 540 × 580 mm and 65 kg. Place it on a sturdy workbench.

Typical applications

  • Filling sand holes and porosity in gold and silver castings
  • Rebuilding prongs, rejoining chain links and closing jump rings
  • Spot-welding findings without solder
  • Butt, stitch and seal welds on small, thin-walled precision parts

Options and customization

Choose 100 W or 200 W average power. We can set the machine up for your mains voltage and plug type. The machine is specified for 24-hour continuous operation. Every machine carries our 2-year whole-machine warranty, and operator training at our Wuhan factory is free.

FAQ

About this machine

What is the difference between the 100 W and 200 W versions?

Both use the same Nd:YAG pulse design and cabinet. Average power is pulse energy multiplied by frequency, so the 200 W version can keep high-energy pulses at a faster repetition rate, which helps on longer seams and heavier pieces. Our spec table does not list the two versions separately, so ask us for the figures of the version you are considering.

How deep can it weld?

The specification gives a welding depth of up to 2 mm. Actual depth depends on the alloy, the joint and your settings, so send us a sample piece if depth is critical.

Do I need a separate water chiller?

No. The chiller is built into the cabinet and has an over-temperature alarm and flow protection.

How are the operator's eyes protected?

An automatic shading device blocks the laser flash while you look through the microscope, so you can keep working at the eyepieces during welding.

Can it run a full shift?

Yes. The machine is specified for 24-hour continuous operation.
