A compact vertical direct-to-wall printer that paints images up to 2.1 m high with pigment wall-painting ink, run from a laptop and a wired handset. It uses a DC brushless servo drive, draws about 75 W in normal use, stays under 50 dBA and prints 3–6 m²/h. It is lower and slower than our 2.5 m UV models but quieter and lower-powered, which suits painted interior walls in homes, shops and offices.

Overview

This vertical direct-to-wall printer paints images onto interior walls with pigment wall-painting ink. Connect a laptop, load the image and the machine paints it automatically, band by band. Print height is 2.1 m. Width can be extended: images wider than 1.7 m are printed in panels and stitched seamlessly.

Three speed modes trade speed for detail: quick mode at 6 m²/h, production mode at 4 m²/h and quality mode at 3 m²/h. Resolution runs from 360 × 720 dpi to 720 × 1440 dpi.

Head: Japanese piezoelectric print head.
Ink supply: negative-pressure automatic feed with 340 ml pigment reservoirs, sealed caps and a dust cover.
Drive: DC brushless servo motor with vector positioning and a grating scale.
Control: wired handset and laptop; dual-core controller with 512 MB memory and USB 2.0/3.0.
Assembly: quick-release fasteners, pulleys and track clamps; no large chassis, so it is easy to take apart and carry.
Power: AC 110 V (90–132 V) or AC 220 V (180–264 V), 47–63 Hz; 20 W idle, 75 W typical, 250 W maximum.
Noise: under 20 dBA on standby, under 50 dBA while printing.
Working range: −10 to 60 °C, 10–80 % relative humidity; the ink needs no heating.

Typical applications

Customised wall decor in homes, shops, cafés and offices, where a quiet, low-power machine is an advantage. It accepts JPG, BMP, TIFF, PDF, AI, PSD and CDR files.

About this machine

How wide can it print?

Width can be extended. Images wider than 1.7 m are printed in panels and stitched together seamlessly.

Does the ink need heating in cold rooms?

No. The pigment ink works without heating from −10 to 60 °C.

How is the printer controlled?

Connect a laptop, load the image and start the job; a wired handset controls the machine at the wall.

How does it compare with the 2.5 m UV wall printers?

It prints lower (2.1 m) and slower (3–6 m²/h), but uses less power and runs quietly, which suits occupied homes and shops. For glass, tile or dark walls, choose a UV model with white ink.
