A vertical direct-to-wall printer with touch-screen control, two Epson print heads and an optional white ink channel. It prints murals 2.5 m high and of unlimited width on walls, tiles and glass at up to 2880 dpi and 8 m²/h. It differs from the 3D Vertical Wall Printer (DX7) by its second head and CMYK + white option, which lets it print on dark and coloured walls.

Overview

The Touch-Screen 3D Wall Printer prints an image straight onto a wall. The machine stands on a wheeled floor rail in front of the wall. The print carriage moves up the mast and prints one vertical band, then the machine steps along the rail and prints the next band. Print height is 2.5 m and width is limited only by how far you move the rail.

Two Epson heads print at up to 2880 dpi with a 3.0 pl droplet. You can order the machine with four colours (CMYK) or with an extra white channel (CMYK + W). White lets you print light colours on dark or coloured walls and lay a white base under images on glass.

Configuration

  • Print heads: two Epson heads, each colour fed by its own piezoelectric supply.
  • Wall sensing: an ultrasonic probe measures the gap to the wall about 30 times a second and adjusts for unevenness of up to 3 cm.
  • Curing: an LED UV lamp cures the ink as the carriage passes, so the print is dry when the machine moves on.
  • Drive: servo motors with a power-off brake that stops the carriage from dropping if power is lost.
  • Control: touch-screen operation and RIP colour-management software. We install and calibrate the software before shipping.
  • Connections: USB 3.0 for image data; aviation plugs on all external cables.
  • Power: single-phase AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz, 2000 W.

The frame folds for transport and fits in a car, van or SUV.

Typical applications

Mural studios and decorators use it for feature walls in hotels, restaurants, schools, kindergartens, offices and tourist sites. It also prints on ceramic tile and glass. Print speed is 8 m²/h in draft and standard modes and 5 m²/h in high-resolution mode.

About this machine

How is this different from the 3D Vertical Wall Printer (DX7)?

Both print 2.5 m high at up to 2880 dpi on the same folding frame. This model adds a second Epson head, touch-screen control and the option of white ink (CMYK + W). The DX7 model prints CMYK only.

Do I need the white ink option?

Choose CMYK + W if you print on dark or coloured walls or glass, or want a white base under colours. For white or light walls, CMYK is enough.

How fast does it print?

The manufacturer's sheet gives 8 m²/h in draft and standard modes and 5 m²/h in high-resolution mode. Real output depends on the image, the wall and the number of passes.

Can it print higher than 2.5 m?

The standard frame prints 2.5 m high. Taller masts have been offered on request, so confirm the height you need with us. For 3.5 m walls, see the wheeled 3.5 m model.

How much ink does it use?

The manufacturer quotes 60–100 m² of print per litre of ink. Actual use depends on image coverage and print mode.
