6-Axis Robot Arm for Laser Welding and Cutting (MW-RB1506)

Models · MW-RB1506

A compact six-axis industrial robot with a 6 kg payload and 1600 mm reach. It automates laser welding, laser cutting, and MIG or TIG welding. It suits manufacturers moving repeated seams from a handheld torch to a programmed cell, and the hollow wrist routes the head cables inside the arm.

Overview

The MW-RB1506 is a six-axis industrial robot developed for welding. It is compact and light, carries up to 6 kg at the wrist, and reaches 1600 mm. Fitted with a fiber laser head, it automates laser welding or laser cutting. With a conventional torch, it works as a MIG or TIG welding robot.

A robot makes sense once the same seam or contour repeats across many parts. The arm holds the head at a steady angle, distance and speed on every part. That keeps weld quality consistent and frees skilled welders for set-up and inspection.

Configuration

  • Arm: six axes, 6 kg maximum payload, 1600 mm reach.
  • Wrist: hollow wrist structure. Cables and hoses run through the wrist, which makes movement more flexible and reduces snagging.
  • Arm design: a streamlined shape reduces interference with fixtures and parts, and the extended wrist range gives more freedom in torch angles.
  • Controller: separate control box with a teach pendant. A single robot-to-controller cable makes installation fast.
  • Utilities: 220 V ±10 %, 50 Hz power and 0.5–0.7 MPa compressed air.

Typical applications

  • Laser welding, with a fiber laser source and welding head
  • Laser cutting of formed or 3D parts
  • MIG and TIG welding cells
  • Any repeated seam that is now welded by hand

Options and customization

We configure the robot for your process. Tell us the process, the part and the cycle you need, and we will propose the laser source or welding power source, the head or torch, and the fixtures. The MW-RB1506 sits alongside our CNC laser welding tables in our automatic welding range.

All machines have a 2-year whole-machine warranty, and training at our Wuhan factory is free.

Talk to an engineer

Tell us the material, thickness and the result you need. An engineer replies with a matched configuration and a quote.

FAQ

About this machine

Is 6 kg of payload enough for a laser head?

The 6 kg covers everything mounted at the wrist: the welding or cutting head, brackets and the share of cable load on the arm. Send us the head model or its weight, and we will confirm the load before you order.

Can the same robot do MIG or TIG welding?

Yes. The MW-RB1506 is designed for welding work and can carry a laser head, a MIG torch or a TIG torch. Tell us which process you need, and we will configure the arm and controller for it.

What utilities does it need?

It needs a 220 V ±10 %, 50 Hz supply and compressed air at 0.5–0.7 MPa. The arm works from 0 to 40 °C, with 15–25 °C recommended, at 20–80 % relative humidity.

How is it programmed?

The arm is programmed with the hand-held teach pendant connected to its control box. We train your operators on programming and on the welding or cutting process at our factory, free of charge.
