Overview

This machine automates pulsed laser welding for parts that need the same weld again and again. You program the weld path on a PC with the CNC2000 system. The CNC table and rotary axis then move the part under the beam, and the machine welds without an operator guiding each spot.

The pulsed Nd:YAG laser heats a very small zone, so the part distorts little and the joint quality is high. That suits small precision parts, such as components for batteries, the automotive and aerospace industries, and jewelry. The table welds flat parts; the rotary axis turns cylinders for round seams.

Configuration

  • Laser: pulsed Nd:YAG with xenon flash lamp, 1064 nm, up to 20 ms pulse width and 50 Hz.
  • Pump cavity: ceramic reflector cavity that resists corrosion and heat; xenon lamp rated for more than 8 million pulses.
  • Motion: CNC 3-axis table, 350 × 350 mm, with rotary axis.
  • Control: PC with CNC2000 software, plus a touch panel on the cabinet.
  • Viewing: microscope on a 360° swivel with automatic eye-protection shading, and a camera monitor with crosshair.
  • Beam: motorized spot-size adjustment from 0.1 to 3 mm; 100 mm focal length.
  • Cooling: water chiller, 2700, 3500 or 6500 W capacity by model.

Typical applications

  • Precision components with repeated seams.
  • Battery parts.
  • Automotive and aerospace parts.
  • Round parts that need a full circumferential weld.
  • Jewelry and small metal parts in gold, silver, steel and titanium.

Options and customization

  • Laser power: 200, 300 or 500 W.
  • Supply: 220 V or 380 V, 50/60 Hz; plugs to suit your country.

The machine has a 2-year whole-machine warranty, and we train your programmers and operators free of charge at our factory in Wuhan.

FAQ

About this machine

How do I program a weld?

Set the weld path and parameters on the PC running the CNC2000 system. The table and rotary axis then move the part under the beam and the machine welds automatically.

Can it weld round parts?

Yes. The rotary axis turns cylindrical parts under the beam for circumferential welds. The table handles flat parts and straight seams.

What is the working area?

The CNC table is 350 × 350 mm. Confirm the maximum part weight for your configuration with us.

Can you test my part first?

Yes. Send us sample parts and we can test-weld them before you order, so you can judge the seam on your own part.

What power supply does it need?

220 V or 380 V ± 10%, 50/60 Hz, depending on the model. We can build for your local voltage and plug type.
